Software License Agreement for MVTec HALCON Progress Student Edition
This Software License Agreement for MVTec HALCON Progress Student Edition (hereinafter: the "Agreement") governs the use of the software MVTec HALCON Progress Student Edition (hereinafter: the "Software"). This Agreement applies between MVTec Software GmbH (hereinafter: "MVTec") and the educational institute, professorial chair, student or university teacher to whom the Software is made available (hereinafter: "You" or "Customer"). By installing, accessing or otherwise using the Software, You accept the terms of this Agreement as well as the Software License Agreement for HALCON which shall apply in addition. If You do not agree to the terms of this Agreement and the Software License Agreement for HALCON in full, do not install, access or use the Software.
The goal of the Software is to provide MVTec’s machine vision technology for non-commercial use in education free of charge.
1. License Grant
1.1 The Software is provided for non-commercial use only.
1.2 MVTec grants You a non-exclusive, non-transferable, time-limited license to install and use the Software free of charge, under the condition that the Software is only used for
- Your educational purposes in higher education, or
- Your scientific research in higher education.
2. Implementation Regulations
The Software license will be provided in the form of a master-ticket from which a limited number of time-restricted sub-tickets can be generated for Your own use or for Your student's use
In case the customer being a student, the customer receives a time-restricted sub-ticket from MVTec for Their own use. It is not permitted to pass on the access data of the sub-ticket to a third party.
A sub-ticket can be activated once on a computer or embedded device. The transfer to another computer or embedded device is not allowed.
Only the Runtime Version (i.e., not the Development Version) of the Software is available for the use on embedded devices.
You acknowledge and agree that the Software initiates time synchronization automatically on a regular basis. You shall ensure that there will be an internet connection while running the Software at least every 5-7 days, in order to enable such time synchronization.
Sub-tickets may only be made available to other units of Your organization after prior written approval by MVTec.
3. Communication and Support
Communication concerning the Software takes place using the e-mail address campus@mvtec.com.
Technical questions concerning the registration and activation of the license ticket for students can be sent to campus@mvtec.com.
No technical support is provided.
